Carrollton is hosting a sweet event this weekend with a city-wide event known as the Chocolate Walk.

The event is sponsored by the Carrollton Main Street Program. February is National Chocolate Month and Feb. 14th is Valentine's Day.

On Saturday, during regular business hours, stores will host different chocolate treats. Visitors can sample more than 20 chocolate treats while shopping in downtown Carrollton. Samples are free.

Stores will have a sign-up with chances to win a special chocolate basket. Free carriage rides will be available from 1 to 4 p.m.

Participating businesses include Maguana's Unique Gifts, Bella's Style on Main, Rita's Antiques, Artful Gifts Etc., Toole & Rose, First National Bank, News-Democrat, Welch's Riverside Restaurant, Cornerstone Floral, DJ Tavern, TKays' Blues and More, Sunshine Thrift, McNeal's Hardware, Down on Main, U.S. Bank, United Citizens Bank, NAPA, Main Studio, Carroll County Public Library, Abby's Closet, Design with the Tymes, Dailey's Tax Service, Tara's NuWave, Burgin's Floor Covering and Mariss'a Alterations.
