Belterra will get a taste of country next weekend when Nashville star Jamey Johnson will perform at the CenterStage Showroom.
Johnson is coming off his latest record, "A Tribute to Hank Cochran," a star-studded tribute to the former country star. Johnson collaborated with George Strait, Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Ray Price, Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, Elvis Costello, Bobby Bare, Asleep at the Wheel, Alison Krauss, Lee Ann Womack and Ronnie Dunn on the album.
Johnson has been nominated for nine Grammy awards, including a nomination for the 2013 Grammy awards for best album for "A Tribute to Hank Cochran."
He won the song of the year for "Give it Away" from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association in 2007. Those two organizations honored him again in 2009 with song of the year for "In Color."
Johnson said Cochran has been a major influence on his life and career, according to his website.
"Hank influenced me, not only as an artist and a songwriter, but also just as a person," Johnson said. "If I had to dream up someone to influence songwriters, I couldn't do better than Hank.
"If he knew you needed help with something, he was there. And that's what I want to be for the people in my life, the same kind of friend that Hank was."
Johnson has released four other albums: "They Call Me Country," "The Dollar," "That Lonesome Song" and "The Guitar Song."
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster for $64.50. The show starts at 7 p.m.
