Thursday, March 13, 2014 11:00 AM
An eighth anniversary celebration will be held Friday and Saturday at That Book Place with discussion panels and dozens of authors on hand.
The store is at 337 Clifty Drive.
Hourly discussion panels will be held at the Ponderosa restaurant, next door at 327 Clifty Drive, on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.
More than 10 authors plan to participate in the discussions on Friday.
The anniversary celebration also will host more than 30 authors - including local and regional writers, as well as Texas author James William Peercy - during the author's fair on Saturday. Other authors are expected to include C. S. Marks, Tony Acree, Brick Marlin and Mysti Parker.
Other groups plan to participate in the annual event throughout the weekend. Girl Scout troops from the Jefferson County area plan cookie sales during the celebration, and National Guard representatives will have booths set up at the bookstore.
The Madison Correctional Facility's A Dog On Prison Turf - or A.D.O.P.T. - program also will host a pet adoption fair during the celebration.
New to the event this year will be table-top game demonstrations. Some of the games that will be part of the demonstration include Love Letter, Magic the Gathering and Vanguard.
