Tom Schneider: Cincinnati's Tom Schneider will offer a festive array of seasonal American Songbook standards, Broadway show tunes, bossa-nova/Latin, blues and jazz on the Steinway Grand from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Village Lights Bookstore.

Jimmy Storms: The former member of the Red Skelton Orchestra and backup pianist for Pat Boon, Connie Francis and Fred Astaire will play old standards on the Steinway Grand from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Village Lights Bookstore.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Gary Hewitt and the Honky Tonk Band. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person. The event will include the annual holiday party and pitch-in. The dance will not be held Dec. 27.

A Holiday Evening: Will include a little piano music and Christmas cheer Dec. 21 at The Thomas Family Winery.

The Night Before Christmas: Village Lights Bookstore will read "A Visit from St. Nicholas" and other seasonal favorites starting at 9 p.m. Dec. 24 broadcast live on WORX.

Host of Angels and Annual Festival of Trees: Lanthier Winery will host their annual displays Nov. 29-Dec. 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Santa's Cottage: Will be open Dec. 20 and Dec. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Broadway Fountain. Santa will also be available from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 22.

Festival of Lights: Thousands of holiday lights reflect into the water along the Ohio River at Paul Ogle Riverfront Park in Vevay from Nov. 30 to Dec. 31.

Festival of Trees: General Butler State Resort Park will host the annual Festival of Trees from Dec. 7 through Jan. 1, with the exception of Dec. 23-Dec. 26 when the lodge will close for the holiday.

Jim Waldo: The artwork of Jim Waldo will be on display at The Thomas Family Winery during December.

Square Deal Art Show: The second annual Square Deal Art Show will be on display from Nov. 1 to Dec. 31 at the Madison Art Club's Art on Main, 309 W. Main St. The exhibit features the unframed 12"x12" canvases from more than 50 artists. Gallery hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Wednesdays. The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug (PG13): The dwarves, along with Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf the Grey, continue their quest to reclaim Erebor, their homeland from Smaug. Bilbo Baggins is in possession of a mysterious and magical ring. The Peter Jackson film stars Ian McKellen and Martin Freeman.

Frozen (PG): Fearless optimist Anna teams up with Kristoff in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in an eternal winter. The film features the voices of Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel.

Hunger Games - Catching Fire (PG13): Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark become targets of the Capitol after their victory in the 74th Hunger Games sparks a rebellion in the Districts of Panem. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
