Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials warn motorists to beware of longer traffic delays on Interstate 71 because of concrete pours, which are part of the interstate's ongoing resurfacing project.

Construction crews will pour concrete today to construct bridge decks south of Exit 43 on Interstate 71, weather permitting. The pours are expected to cause longer traffic delays than usual, transportation officials said.

Officials ask travelers to consider alternate routes for their commutes.

The bridge decks are scheduled to be completed by Monday, and traffic delays are expected to improve at that time.

The ongoing resurfacing project on the interstate is scheduled to be completed by Nov. 1, a release said.
