George Halitzka, bottom, talks about the basic principles for improvisational acting during a class at the Carroll County Public Library on Wednesday. Maddie Coulter, 9, of Ghent, Ky., top, plays through an exercise designed to get the acting students comfortable with one another at the Comedy Improv Basics class at the Carroll County Public Library on Wednesday. Students learned how to develop character relationships with an objective and sense of place as quickly in a scene as possible. They also learned the fundamentals of how to create good improvisational comedy. Halitzka said the two fundamentals for improve are to create conflict and always respond to other actors in a way that opens the door for them to react.
