Candidates will vie for leadership positions in Bedford, while Milton and Trimble County Schools candidates are uncontested in the election next week.

Trimble County residents can vote from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Milton Elementary School, 9245 U.S. 421-N, and Trimble County Middle School, 116 Wentworth Ave. Voters will need to take a photo ID to the polling location.

Residents of Bedford will choose four city commissioners from the five candidates running.

Three seats on the Trimble County School Board are up for election, but only one candidate from each of two districts filed - both of them incumbents - and no one filed for the third seat.

The third seat will need to be filled after the election. Trimble County School Superintendent Marcia Dunaway said the district will post an advertisement to begin the process to fill the vacancy.

Those running for Bedford City Commission are Frank Floyd, Harold Greene, Darrell Harmon, James Helm and Todd Pollock. Floyd, Greene, Harmon and Pollock currently serve on the commission, while Helm has served on the commission in the past.

Commissioners are elected every two years.

Candidates running uncontested for the Milton City Commission are Lynn Comeaux, Jerry Harmon, Melvin Tom Mahoney and Cecil Robak. All four currently serve on the commission.

Kim Temple is seeking re-election as the Trimble County Board of Education District 1 representative and Scott Burrows is seeking re-election as the District 5 representative. Representatives are elected to a four-year term.
