Colorful welcome for visitors from China
Friday, November 08, 2013 10:00 AM
Madison Junior High School sixth-grader Shelby Hatton giggles as art teacher Eric Phagan paints her hand green. Phagan was painting students' hands and then having them touch the sides of a mural at the junior high to add texture to foliage depicted on the art piece.
The mural, which mixes elements from Madison and China, was done this week in advance of a visit next week from a delegation of Chinese educators.
There will be a welcome reception for the delegation Monday at 10 a.m. at the administration building.
The reception will be followed by a tour of Hanover College and a visit to Madison Junior High School, Lydia Middleton Elementary School and E. O. Muncie Elementary School. (Staff photos by Ken Ritchiefirstname.lastname@example.org)
