Kentucky State Police are investigating an accident that occurred Friday afternoon, resulting in the death of a Glencoe, Ky., woman.

State police said 59-year-old Linda Ruth was ejected from her vehicle after a crash on Highway 16 and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said Ruth was southbound when her vehicle hit a slick spot on the road, causing it to travel into the northbound lane. Her Toyota Corolla was struck head-on by a Chevrolet truck driven by Albert Moore, 37, of Verona, Ky., police said.

Ruth was not wearing a seat belt, according to police. Moore was taken to University Hospital in Cincinnati with minor injuries.

The accident is under investigation by Trooper Brandon Maupon. He was assisted at the scene by the Gallatin County Sheriff's Department, Boone County Sheriff's Department, Verona Fire Department, and Verona EMS.
