The Madison Historic District Board of Review approved 11 of 12 certificates of approval brought before the group Monday.

•Jane Lorenz to tear down and rebuild a side porch at her resident at 917 Walnut St.

•Susan Leatherbury to demolish an existing outbuilding and replace it with a building with wood-siding, standing seam metal roof, wood doors and vinyl windows with wood trim at 127 Mulberry St.

•Board member Robert Schoenstein and his wife, Pamela, to remove and rebuild a front porch and back carport, install asphalt, shingle roof and install metal roof over the carport. The board voted 6-0, after Schoenstein recused himself, to approve the project at 517 Walnut St.

•Brian Martin spoke for Larry and Valecia Crisafulli. Valecia Crisafulli also is a board member, to rebuild an existing enclosed porch at 832 W. Main St. Valecia Crisafulli recused herself from the 6-0 vote.

•Brian Martin to add a pitched roof structure to an existing garage that currently has a flat roof at 104 Sering St.

•Jason and Julie Pattison requested three certificates of approval and were awarded two for a property at 311 East St. The first, to replace a shingle roof with standing seam metal roof, was approved 7-0. The second, to replace existing aluminum siding with hardie board siding, was also approved 7-0. The third, to replace existing wood windows with vinyl windows was denied. Board members Pam Newhouse, Ann Roller, Ron Hopper and Crisafulli voted to deny the installation. Schoenstein and Graham Thieman voted to approve installation and Libby Mann abstained.

•Melissa Brown to rebuild a screened-in porch, replace wood siding on second story with hardie board, replace two wood window sills with stone sills at her property at 202 W. Second St.

•Leon and Gerry Michl to install six- inch aluminum downspouts, remove one door and two windows from under a carport and replace with French doors. The residence is located at 416 Adams Ave.

•The Heritage Trail Conservancy to remove three wood vinyl garage doors and replace with three prefinished steel doors at 107 Cragmont St.

•Tina Buchannan to remove one vinyl window and replace it with a new, smaller vinyl window. The residence is at 413 Elm St.
