Man stabbed at Clifton Heights
Courier Staff Report
Saturday, July 05, 2014 5:00 AM
A Madison man was stabbed early Friday morning outside of Clifton Heights Apartments.
The victim, Shawn Smith, 38, was treated at King's Daughters' Hospital and released.
Sheriff John Wallace said deputies are looking for a white male suspect, 22-25 years old, with tattoos on both arms. He also was described as 5-foot-9 and balding.
The incident was reported at 1:50 a.m.
Smith, who lives at the apartments in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue, told deputies he was outside when a man he did not know approached him. Smith said the suspect made threatening comments and stabbed him in the leg as he walked away.
Wallace said it is unclear what was used to stab Smith.
The suspect fled as a passenger in a white, two-door Acura. The only other occupant of the car is believed to have been the driver, who also has not been identified.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at (812) 265-2648.
