The Ripley County Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance in reference to a crash investigation.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of State Road 129 and County Road 900-S in Cross Plains.

According to a news release from the sheriff's department, a woman driving a light tan, older model Jeep Cherokee with tinted windows tried to turn onto County Road 900-S from State Road 129 and struck a parked vehicle. The parked car, a green 2006 Pontiac GT passenger vehicle, received heavy damage as a result of the accident, according to the release.

The driver of the Cherokee then struck a stop sign with the rear of the vehicle at the intersection as she fled the scene, traveling back northbound on State Road 129 towards Versailles, police said.
