State excise police make 8 arrests

Indiana State Excise Police officers arrested eight people on nine charges at this weekend's Madison Regatta.
On Thursday, officers arrested Joshua L. Mahoney, 19, of Madison, on charges of theft and illegal consumption of alcohol after they allegedly saw him steal a bag of ice from a package liquor store.
On Friday, excise officers arrested Jacob D. Marshall, 20, of Madison, and a 17-year-old on a charge of theft of various items at Walmart. In an unrelated case, Cody Crabtree, 25, of Madison, was preliminarily charged with possession of untaxed alcoholic beverages.
On Saturday, officers arrested Cory M. O'Neal, 19, of Lexington, on a charge of illegal consumption of alcohol. Nicholas J. Bohman, 22, of Hanover, was arrested and preliminarily charged with furnishing alcohol to a minor and resisting law enforcement.
Also on Saturday, a 17-year-old from Dupont was arrested on a charge of illegal possession/consumption of alcohol and released to a parent. A 17-year-old from North Vernon was also issued a warning for illegal possession of alcohol.
