Vevay man, 49, dies in accident

A Vevay man was killed in a collision Thursday afternoon after his vehicle traveled into the opposite lane of traffic.
James A. Williams, 49, Vevay, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on East Enterprise/Markland Pike.
According to a news release from the Indiana State Police, Williams was northbound in a 1988 Toyota pick-up truck when his vehicle traveled into the southbound lane for unknown reasons.
He was struck on the driver's side door by Steven W. Gregory, 42, Dry Ridge, Ky., who was southbound in a 1999 Ford truck pulling a 25-foot flat-bed trailer, according to the release.
Trooper Matt Holley led the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by the Switzerland County Sheriff's Department, Jefferson Craig Fire Department, East Enterprise Fire Department and the Switzerland County Coroner's Office.
