The Milton City Commission has appointed a new member to the vacant commission seat.
Commissioners approved the appointment of Seth Willis to fill the vacancy left after Tom Mahoney's resignation last month.
Willis, a Milton native, is a graduate of Trimble County High School and Indiana Wesleyan University.
Mahoney submitted a letter of resignation to the commission prior to the February meeting. Commissioners accepted Mahoney's resignation with regret during the meeting last month.
Mayor Denny Jackson said in February that Mahoney had resigned for personal reasons.
The commission term ends Dec. 31, 2014.
Willis will need to run for election in November should he wish to serve a full term on the commission.
In other business:
The commission renewed the city's two loans for water and sewer improvements at the Farmers Bank of Milton.
The loans are renewed annually.
Commissioners agreed to give donations to Project Prom and the Relay for Life activities.
