Courier Staff Report
Tuesday, August 19, 2014 11:00 AM
A 19-year-old Dupont woman was arrested Monday in connection with a July hit-and-run incident at Madison Mobile Village.
Carmon Hicks faces preliminary felony charges of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and criminal recklessness with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.
Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies say Hicks struck 18-year-old Jesse Watterson inside the Madison Mobile Village on July 15 with an SUV and then fled the scene. Deputies believe Watterson and Hicks knew each other prior to the incident.
Watterson suffered head trauma and was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital. Sheriff John Wallace said Watterson spent about one week in the hospital.
At the time of incident, deputies believe there were other occupants inside the vehicle. Wallace said the investigation is ongoing and more charges could follow.
Hicks was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where she awaits an initial hearing.
