Michael Gurley of Rising Sun, lies on a table at the Madison Moose Lodge as he makes a donation during a Red Cross blood drive Thursday.
Moose Lodge officials hoped to get as many as 25 people to donate blood.
Gurley said he's been donating blood for 50 years. He started while he was serving in the Army.
"I've been doing it ever since," he said.
Since he began giving blood in 1964, Gurley said he's donated more than 32 gallons of blood.
Gurley said he feels that donating blood is just the right thing to do.
"I plan to keep giving it as long as I'm able," he said.
