Martha Daphne Fitzgerald Bayne, 89, of Milton, Ky., died Friday, April 18, 2014, at Richwood Nursing Facility in LaGrange, Ky.
She was born April 12, 1925, in Franklinton, Ky., to William Joseph and Lula Catherine Jones Fitzgerald. She was a homemaker for all of her life. She was a member of the Milton Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, making pieces for her family. She also enjoyed poetry, hunting and being outside.
She is survived by three children, Henry Dennis Brierly and Ira Glen Brierly, both of Bedford, Ky., and Betty Carol Heaton of Milton, Ky.; two stepchildren, Pat Bayne of Burlington, Ky., and Mike Bayne of Eminence, Ky.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her husband, Norman Bayne; one stepson, Norman Bayne; her parents; six brothers, Jess Fitzgerald, Carl Fitzgerald, Luther Fitzgerald, Ralph Fitzgerald, Norvin Fitzgerald and Vernon Fitzgerald; four sisters, Sally Brierly, June Sutherland, Cornelia Lawson Kelley and Leona Sharp.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky. Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery in New Castle, Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Frank Harris Jr.
Frank E. Harris Jr., 60, of Butlerville, died Friday, April 18, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 29, 1953, at Camp Atterbury, to Frank E. and Martha E. Dwenger Harris. He retired from Muscatatuck State Developmental Center where he had worked as an electrician. He enjoyed riding motorcycles from coast to coast, collecting coins and playing cards. He was a member of ABATE for 28 years, and formerly served as the county and Linc representative. He was also a member of Sons of AmVets where he had served as commander, and was a member of the Eagles.
He is survived by two sons, Shawn Harris of Butlerville and Chad Harris of Boston, Mass.; four brothers, Richard Harris of Butlerville, Lawrence Harris of Columbus, Kenneth Harris of Butlerville and Greg Harris of North Vernon; one sister, Cindy Waltermire of Butlerville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Juanita Harris.
The funeral will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sawyer-Picket Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the service.

Martha Jane Jackson, 81, of Madison, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at The Waters of Clifty Falls.

William "Bill" Paul Meredith, 71, of Hanover, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Hosparus Inpatient Unit of Norton Pavilion in Louisville, Ky.
He was born Aug. 31, 1942, in Madison, to Paul D. and Mildred E. Phillips Meredith. He resided all of his life in Jefferson County and most of his life was spent in Hanover. He attended Hanover High School and was raised in the Hanover United Methodist Church. He worked early in life as a heavy equipment operator for more than 25 years in construction. He retired from Trans Ash in Cincinnati and Miami, Ohio. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He enjoyed building model cars, fixing lawn tractors, antique cars and Impalas.
He is survived by his wife, Linda K. Perkinson Meredith, whom he married April 8, 1964; one daughter, Julie Thomas of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Doug Meredith of Hanover and Terry Meredith of Vevay; one sister, Shirley Meredith of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Phillip Wayne Meredith of Hanover; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one aunt; and nieces, nephews and other relatives
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Baptist Church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church Wednesday from noon until the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Grace Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Sue Morgan, 81, of Carrollton, Ky., died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Ky.

Nettie E. Nicholson, 94, of Scottsburg, died Friday, April 18, 2014, in Scottsburg.
She was born July 10, 1919, in Rushville, to Charles F. and Lola M. Applegate Collins. She was formerly employed at Morgan's, Kern's Bakery and Ideal Cleaners.
She is survived by one son, Mark Allen Nicholson of Nabb; one stepdaughter, Margaret Ann Noe of Nabb; one sister, Marjorie Fox of Scottsburg; and several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren and stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noble Nicholson; one stepson, Eugene Nicholson; one stepdaughter, Betty Cravens; her parents; one brother, Roy Collins; and four sisters, Doris Collins, Dorothy M. Collins, Helen George and Norma Smith.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stewart & Hoagland Funeral Home in Scottsburg. Burial will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from noon until the service.
