Brenda A. Briggs, of Vevay, died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.
Pamela Sue Abplanalp Dews, 47, of Vevay, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 4, 1967, in Batesville, to Carl Edward Abplanalp and Wilma Louise Woodruff. She had lived in Switzerland County since the age of 16, and attended Switzerland County High School. She was employed as a qualified medication aide with Swiss Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, retiring after 13 years of service. She was a member of Markland Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to music, shopping and getting her nails done.
She is survived by one daughter, Christina Marie Bladen of Vevay; her mother, Wilma Louise Woodruff Sherman of Rising Sun; three brothers, Marlin Abplanalp of Patriot, Mark Abplanalp of Rising Sun and Jeff Powers of Aurora; three sisters, Sharon Turner of Patriot, Carrie Dowd of Louisiana and Charlotte Dew of Patriot; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dews, whom she married Dec. 13, 1982, and who died March 17, 2006; her father; her stepfather, Ernie Sherman; and one brother, Harry Abplanalp.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Patriot.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to a charity of the donor's choice. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

A memorial service for Janice Sue Watson will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Milton, Ky.
Watson, 57, of Indianapolis, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 5 p.m. until the service.
