Buford Lynn Handlon, 49, 503 Colbert Lane, Bedford, Ky., died Thursday June 1, 2006 at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1956 in Madison, the son of Rollie and Sylvia Richmond Handlon. For 18 years he was an employee of the Southern States Farm Store. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and playing video games
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving is his wife, Ora Gray Handlon; a son, Buford Wayne Handlon of Bedford, Ky.; a sister, Doretha Wentworth of Bedford, Ky; four brothers, Kenny, Earl and Larry Handlon all of Milton, Ky.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday June 4, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home with burial following in Moffett Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home or from 10 a.m. until time of the service on Sunday.
Rita Lynn Hunt, 46, Worthville, Ky., died Thursday June 1, 2006 at her residence after battling an illness for several months.
She was born in Owen County Ky. the daughter of Jerry Biddle and Anita (Miles) Kelso.
She attended Carroll County High School and was a homemaker. She attended the Open Door Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Jeff Hunt; stepfather, Johnny Kelso; a grandmother, Mabel Stephenson; maternal grandparents, Estil and Dorthy Miles; and one aunt, Betty Couch.
Surviving are her mother of Worthville, Ky.; her father of Cincinnati; two daughters Anita Bartram of Worthville, Ky. and Chelsea Hunt of Richmond, Ky.; a son, Cody Hunt of Richmond, Ky.; three sisters, Debbie Hudgins and Vanessa Mazza both of Worthville, Ky., and Carolyn Meade of Warsaw, Ky.; a brother, Jerry Biddle of Worthville, Ky., and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday June 5, 2006 at the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Sunday or after 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Jane O. McCawley Kelly, 85, 2017 Ridgewood Drive, died Friday June 2, 2006 at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 26, 1920, in Springfield, Ky., the daughter of William Howell and Mary Allethaire Medley McCawley. She was raised in Springfield and was a graduate of St. Catherine’s College with a liberal arts degree.
On Dec. 20, 1941, she married Richard E. Kelly II. After World War II, the two moved to Madison and co-owned and operated Kelly Brother’s Ace Hardware store on the corner of Walnut and Main street from 1946 until 1977. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Madison.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 58 years; a son, J. Spalding Kelly; two sisters, Isabelle McCawley Ballard and Rose Michelle McCawley Clarkson and a brother, George Nedley McCawley.
Surviving are two daughters, Georgellen “Georgie” Kelly and Jane Michelle Kelly, both of Madison; three sons, Richard E. Kelly, III of Prospect, Ky., William Howell McCawley, of Connersville and Benjamin F. Kelly of Madison; 16 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2006 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
Friends and family may call Sunday June 4, 2006 from 5-7 p.m. at the Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre. Monday calling will be from 10-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the St. Dominic Catholic Church in Springfield, Ky.
Deborah K. Ware, 48, 1987 State Road 156, Patriot, died Thursday June 1, 2006 at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison.
She was born on March 4, 1958 to Robert and Evelyn (Campbell) Harmon in Campbellsburg, Ky. She spent her life as a homemaker and enjoyed gardening.
Her parents prededed her in death.
Surviving are her husband, Jackie W. Ware of Patriot; a son, Michael Robert Kier of Patriot; a daughter, Lory Kier of Patriot; a sister, Beulah Abbott of Shelbyville, Ky., a brother, Bobby Harmon of Trimble County, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.
Friends and family may call from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
