Tommie Bovard, 51, of Madison, formerly of Vevay and East Enterprise, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, at King's Daughters' Hospital.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.
Edna Louise Cook Burns, 83, of Madison, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
She was born March 23, 1930, on Long Run in Switzerland County, to Elijah Thomas and Margaret "Maggie" Craig Cook. She was raised and attended school in Switzerland County. She was a former employee for Hereford Motor Lodge for 10 years. She had resided in Madison since 1960. She was a housekeeper and homemaker. She enjoyed babysitting, her family, going to yard sales, caring for her African Violets and gardening. She also enjoyed all animals, especially cats.
She is survived by one son, Barry Courtney of Sardinia, Ohio; three daughters, Diana Kay Turner of Madison, Sharon Maiden of Scipio and Melissa Burnette of Madison; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Donald Courtney Sr., whom she married March 4, 1950, and who died April 16, 1970; her second husband, Harold Eugene Hamilton, whom she married in 1960, and who died Nov. 19, 2002; her third husband, Vernon Burns, who died Nov. 11, 1994; one son, Robert Donald "Bobby Don" Courtney, who died Sept. 5, 2011; her parents; and three brothers, Joseph T. "Jodie" Cook, who died April 3, 1992, William Bill Cook, who died Feb. 2, 1998, and Oscar D. Cook, who died Dec. 2, 1999.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Adrian Dwight Foster, 58, of Milton, Ky., died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Lytle Funeral Chapel.
Gary L. Wright, 72, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Bedford, Ky., died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in Tucson, Ariz.
He was born June 15, 1941, in Bedford, Ky., to Daniel and Barbara Peak Wright. He was a graduate of Trimble County High School. He attended college for two years before working with Mortgage Lending in Lexington, Ky. He lived in Lexington, Ky., for 35 years before moving to Tucson, Ariz. He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lexington, Ky.
He is survived by his wife, Emily Wood Wright; one son, Christopher Wright of Demotte; two brothers, Glen Wright of Bedford, Ky., and Gayle Wright of Tucson, Ariz.; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Milton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Moffett Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service.
Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, Ky. is in charge of arrangements.
