Carl Handlon

Carl Wayne Handlon, 69, of Hanover, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born Sept. 1, 1944, in Madison, to Louis Harvey and Marjorie Kathryn Smith Handlon. He was united in marriage to Doris Parker in 1963. He was employed as a custodian with the Madison Consolidated School System, primarily working at the Canaan Elementary School for 25 years. He also worked at Rexnord-Chain Belt earlier in life. He was a member of the Canaan Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years and attended Green Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching movies and fishing.

He is survived by one brother, Jackie Lynn Handlon of Canaan; caregiver, Jocie Mae Roberts of Madison; two nephews; one niece; one great-nephew; two great-nieces; and several cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Scott Handlon; his parents; and two brothers, Robert Handlon and Gary Handlon.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery near Madison.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Canaan Volunteer Fire Department. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Patricia Inman

Patricia Alice "Pat" Richards Inman, 88, of Hanover, formerly of LaGrange, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover.

She was born Aug. 27, 1925, in London, England, to Ernest and Elizabeth Richards. She resided in LaGrange for 30 years before moving to Madison in 2002. While in LaGrange, she was a member of Howe United Methodist Church. She was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Madison. She enjoyed crocheting prayer shawls and baby blankets. She also enjoyed painting, sharing her talents and her dog.

She is survived by one granddaughter, Kim Reese of Madison; one grandson, Matthew C. Graefnitz of LaGrange; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burford H. Inman, who died in July 1987; one daughter, Christine D. Graefnitz, who died in 1978; and her parents.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange.

Friends may call at the church Friday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Alice Mustain

Alice L. Maxey Mustain, 80, of Madison, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at The Waters of Clifty Falls.

She was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Bowling Green, Ky., to Jesse Adalbert and Eula Clair Maxey. She was raised in Bowling Green and graduated from Warren County High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Dale Gordon Mustain. She moved to Madison in 1963. She worked with the Madison State Hospital as a psychiatric attendant, retiring after 32 years of service. She was a member of the North Madison Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by two sons, Michael G. Mustain of Clarksville and John L. Mustain of Jeffersonville; one daughter, Jane A. Snell of Ripley, Tenn.; one sister, Dorla Fay Briggs of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Youree Maxey, Carl Maxey and Harold Wayne Maxey; and two sisters, Ruth Barnett and Rolena Greathouse.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.

Geraldene "Gerry" Tharp Chadwell Perkinson, 73, of Carrollton, Ky., died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

She was born April 9, 1940, in New Castle, Ky., to Dalton and Goldie Estes Tharp. She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden caring for her flowers and roses, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and going to Belterra. She also enjoyed animals, especially her dogs.

She is survived by three children, Connie Burton of Madison, and Mark Chadwell and Linda Carson, both of Milton, Ky.; one sister, Mary Tharp of Carrollton, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held at noon Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery.

She was born March 25, 1930, in English, Ky., to James and Mary Breeden Webster. She was employed with Carroll County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Gospel Baptist Church in Carrollton, Ky.

She is survived by one son, Ralph W. Thompson of Carrollton, Ky.; one daughter, Coretta Wilson-Hicks of Columbus; two sisters, Ethel Golf of Verona, Ky. and Wilma Skaggs of Carrollton, Ky.; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Thompson; her parents; and one sister, Mary Wilson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton, Ky. Burial will be in English Cemetery in English, Ky.
