Edna Louise Cook Burns, 83, of Madison, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay.
William George "Bill" Lohrig, 84, of Madison, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, in Madison.
He was born April 13, 1929, in Jefferson County, to Harold William and Eva Isabelle Pribble Lohrig. He was a 1947 graduate of Madison High School. He served in the Indiana National Guard for six years. He worked early in life for Wykoff Shoe Repair in downtown Madison and then with Sample's Ice Cream Shop. He retired as owner of Lohrig Construction Company in Madison where he had worked for more than 60 years, purchasing the company from his father. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Paynesville and Madison Elks Lodge 524. He was a 67-year member of Western Fire Company No. 3. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, bird watching and bird feeding. He also enjoyed conversation and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen "Kak" Lawson Lohrig, whom he married Aug. 13, 1949; two sons, Steven Lohrig of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Roger Lohrig of Madison; two daughters, Kathy Byrne of Georgetown and Jill Jackson of Lexington; two brothers, James H. "Jim" Lohrig and Graham Lohrig, both of Madison; one sister, Mary Ann Plummer of Franklin; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Ronald Edward "Ronnie" Lohrig, who died Aug. 6, 2012.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until the service. Western Fire Company No. 3 will conduct a fireman's service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or Western Fire Company No. 3. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Kathy Sue Minks, 55, of Pekin, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
She was born July 7, 1958, in Seymour, to Rex and Edith Mae Minks. She was a 1976 graduate of Southern High School in Louisville, Ky. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at Hazelwood Health and Rehab.
She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Morgan of Clarksville, Stephanie Minks of Ramsey and Amanda Wright of Pekin; two sons, Gregory Minks of Ramsey and Christopher Minks of Denton, Texas; her parents, of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers, Darrel Minks and Billy Minks, both of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Sherry White of Louisville, Ky.; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.
