Edward Fewell

Edward Lee "Lum" Fewell, 73, of Bedford, Ky., died Monday, May 5, 2014, at his residence.

He was born June 16, 1940, in Bedford, Ky., to Ernest and Anna Frances Griffith Fewell. He lived in the same house that he was born in. He was a graduate of Trimble County High School. He was a farmer his whole life. He worked at Southern States in Campbellsburg, Ky., for many years and was an auctioneer for approximately 30 years. He was a University of Kentucky fan and enjoyed going to little league baseball games and fishing with his grandsons. He also enjoyed his time in the tobacco stripping room and spending time telling stories with friends at the mini mart in Campbellsburg, Ky.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Sue Leach Fewell; two sons, Mark Fewell of Bedford, Ky., and Chad Fewell of Hanover; one brother, Ernie Fewell of Bedford, Ky.; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Home in Campbellsburg, Ky. Burial will be in Campbellsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Carroll County High School Baseball.

Richard Lunsford

Richard H. Lunsford, 77, of Madison, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Hickory Creek at Madison.

Helen Stearns

Helen Louise Stearns, 93, of North Vernon, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon.

She was born July 22, 1920, in Switzerland County, to Frank and Sylvia Eades Mathews. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church in North Vernon. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, babysitting and her dogs.

She is survived by one son, Thomas Stearns of North Vernon; one daughter, Linda Conwell of North Vernon; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including several from the Madison area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stearns, whom she married Oct. 9, 1937, and who died May 5, 1980; one son, Jerry W. Stearns, who died in 2006; her parents; and five brothers, Lloyd Mathews, John Mathews, Pete Mathews, Al Mathews and Harold Mathews.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from noon until the service.

Charles Willis

Charles Wayne Willis, 65, of Sanders, Ky., died Monday, May 5, 2014, in Madison.

He was born May 12, 1948, in Turners Station, Ky., to Frank and Lucille McManis Willis. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and being outside and enjoying nature.

He is survived by one sister, Ann Hawkins of Turners Station, Ky.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joy Wilson; and one brother, Frank Willis Jr.

A graveside service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Turners Station Cemetery.
