Georgia Ann Sutherland, 68, of Campbellsburg, Ky., died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
She was born Jan. 25, 1944, in Dearborn, Mich., the daughter of George Wise and Margaret Peeno Colgate. She was founding member of the Emergency Medical Technicians in Trimble County and later in life cared for family and friends. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was a Kentucky Colonel. She had enjoyed history from a young age, and was past member of the Trimble County Historical Society. Through her research of families in the area, she learned to enjoyed writing. She also enjoyed clogging, visiting with friends and Sudoku puzzles.
She is survived by three sons, David Sutherland of Carrollton, Ky., Rob Sutherland of Port Royal, Ky., and Barry Sutherland of Bedford, Ky.; four brothers, Larry Wise, Edward Colgate, Jim Colgate and Danny Colgate; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Edward Sutherland, whom she married May 12, 1959; one son, Arthur Edward Sutherland Jr.; her parents; one brother, George Wise Jr.; and one sister, Sherry Wise Flemming.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky. A graveside service and burial will follow the funeral service in Campbellsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 10 a.m. until the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Providence Baptist Church. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
