Lonnie Barker

Lonnie P. Barker, 83, of Hanover, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born March 16, 1930, in Madison, to Franklin and Carrie Brawner Barker. He resided all of his life and attended school in Jefferson County. He served in the Army, rising to the rank of E-4, and ending his service on May 11, 1960. He farmed all of his life. He was a member of the Kent Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling, working and animals.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Carol Hatfield of Hanover; two sons, Terry Barker and Ronald Barker, both of Hanover; two sisters, Margie Gassert of Madison and Mabel Spry Snepp of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna L. Gray Barker, whom he married April 2, 1955, and who died May 15, 2011; and his parents.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery near Madison.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Wiley Ferguson

Wiley E. Ferguson, 80, of Madison, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013.

Eric Lamaster

Eric Brian Lamaster, 51, of North Vernon, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013.

He was born March 12, 1962, in Kokomo, to Robert Lee and Wanda McNamee Lamaster. He was a 1980 graduate of Jennings County High School. He was employed as a supervisor at Dimensional Metal Stamping in Madison for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, Harley Davidsons, Jeeps and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his companion, Mary Magner of North Vernon; one daughter, Brittany Brading of Charlestown, S.C.; his mother of North Vernon; one brother, Stan Lamaster of St. Louis, Mo.; grandmothers, Helen McNamee of Scipio and Lavene Lamaster of Commiskey; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Darlena Lamaster.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Virginia McDowell

Virginia Maude "Jenny" McDole McDowell, 85, of Madison, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at The Waters of Clifty Falls.

She was born March 29, 1928, in Bedford, Ky., to Tom and Bertha Hackney McDole. She spent most of her life in Jefferson County. She was a homemaker and caregiver. She attended Hopewell Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, yodeling, making yo-yos, flowers and being with her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet Lee Hardwick of Deputy; two sons, Warren Thomas McDowell of Brunswick, Ga. and Robert Allen McDowell of Lexington; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison McDowell, whom she married in May 1947; her father; her mother; three sisters, Lola Mahoney, Elizabeth Kelley and Ora Jane Kroger; and two brothers, Raymond McDole and Harold McDole.

The funeral will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the Grandview Memorial Gardens Chapel. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
