    Mylee is an active, 6-month-old who loves to run and play. She had an accident before coming to the shelter that broke one of her back legs. The Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter currently has more than 6 dogs or puppies, and 28 cats or kittens available.     Madison Consolidated High School hosted its Senior Honors Day on May 20. More than 100 members of the class of 2016 were recognized with scholarships, certificates and awards totaling more than $1.5 million.
  • Tax assistance program to expand; United Way seeking more volunteers

    Plans are being made to expand the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and reach out to more community members next tax season. The United Way is looking for more volunteers to be trained as tax preparers.
