Pastor Appreciation Day: Madison Assembly of God, 1636 Clifty Drive, will honor its pastors on Oct. 13 with Bible fellowship at 9:30 a.m. and worship at 10 a.m. The church will recognize lead pastor Peter Joudry, spiritual formations pastor Ruth Joudry, worship pastors Nehemiah and Emily Park, children's pastor Mia Tran and youth leader Mary Rowlett. Scaffold Lick 195th Anniversary and Homecoming: Scaffold Lick Baptist Church will celebrate 195 years and host a homecoming Oct. 13 with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., singing and worship at 10:30 a.m. and a pitch-in lunch following the service. Steve Hall will lead in song and worship with his brothers David and Jeff, and his nephew Bryce. Singer-songwriter Jody Staples-Fitzgibbon will also be present.
A Nightlight for Naul: A candlelight vigil in recognition of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 412 W. Main St.
Blackwood Brothers: Will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard Street. Admission is $5 at the door. A free will offering will also be collected.
Taize: A Taize worship service will be held Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Hanover Presbyterian Church. Everyone is welcome. Taize services will be held on the first Friday of the month at Madison Presbyterian Church, 202 Broadway and on the third Friday of each month at Hanover Presbyterian Church, 174 East Main Street, Hanover.
No More Cutting: A support group for girls from junior high to college who struggle with depression, fear, anxiety and suicidal thoughts will hold its first meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 and will meet every Friday thereafter at the same time. The group is spiritually-based and non-denominational. For more information call (502) 468-6316.
Halloween Party: Trinity United Methodist Church, 412 W. Main St., will host a Halloween party Oct. 27 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. starting at the Broadway Fountain before moving inside the church. The event will include a trunk-or-treat, food, games and live music. Costumes are encouraged, but not required.
Jesus Clothes Closet: The Jesus Clothes Closet at Trinity United Methodist Church, 412 W. Main St., is open every Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. with free clothes for infants to adults. Use the church's Main Street entrance. Closed on holidays which fall on a Monday.
Open Hands Open Hearts Thrift Shop: Will be open Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at 254 E. LaGrange Road in Hanover, with clothing from infant to adult sizes, household items and seasonal goods.
Celebrate Recovery: A Christ-centered recovery program for hurts, habits and hang-ups based on the beatitudes will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at 1635 Oak Hill Drive. Sign up by calling (812) 493-4487.Joy in the Journey: A women's fellowship and Bible study will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Madison.
