Smyrna Homemakers

The Smyrna Homemakers met April 16 at Resurrection Lutheran Church with 11 members present ad one visitor. Janet McMahan opened the meeting with the Extension Homemakers Club Creed and the Pledge of Allegiance. June Chatham read devotions and the treasurer's report was read. Members answered roll call with their favorite picnic food. Dues were collected. Martha Renschler read an article on the best buys available. The club discussed the Homemakers' Bits and Pieces Quilt Show, which had more than 90 items. A leader lesson program will be held in May in North Vernon. The district meeting will be Aug. 22, but a location has not been set. The council meeting was scheduled for May 1 at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison branch. Chatham and Wanda McClure were as hostesses. Visitors are welcome to attend the club's next meeting on May 21 at the church.
