Courier Staff Report
Tuesday, April 08, 2014 11:00 AM
Michael Eden is the latest graduate of the Jefferson County Drug Court, earning his certificate on April 1.
Eden credited the Drug Court with holding him accountable for his recovery from a heroin addiction, according to a news release. He has obtained full-time employment and even received a promotion.
He has been sober for 18 months. He said the rigorous curriculum of the drug court program prepared him to face life's challenges without turning to drugs. Eden said he has gained the trust and admiration of his friends and family.
Jefferson Superior Court Judge Alison Frazier, who supervises the drug court, said Eden was not only successful in his own recovery, but he was also a valued participant of the Drug Court by serving as a positive role model for other participants.
Drug Court supervision and monitoring includes weekly court appearances and creating the solid foundation upon which Eden relies to live a clean and sober life.
