The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Council met June 26 at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison branch with seven members present. President Kay Dunham opened the meeting. Dorothy Canada gave the secretary's report. Members were reminded of the district meeting which will be Aug. 27 at Hanover Baptist Church and achievement day, which will be held Sept. 12 at Resurrection Lutheran Church. Aprons are the theme and red, white and blue are the colors. Those attending should bring a dish to share for lunch. Janet McMahan gave a progress report on the quilt project. The borders were on and it was ready to go in the frame. The quilt committee meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at the Hanover Methodist Church. Club dues can be sent to council treasurer Ruth Kramer. The council will meet again at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 7 at the library.
