La Casa Amiga's annual all-you-eat dinner and fundraiser will be Saturday at the Pope John Elementary School cafeteria.

The dinner, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., will include traditional dishes from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Columbia, Venezuela and Peru. All the food and beverages are donated and homemade.

This is the fifth year for the event, though the organization has been in Madison for 11 years.

Patrons can eat at the cafeteria or order carryout. Meals cost $5, but children ages 5 and younger will get in free.

The event, which is La Casa Amiga's chief annual fundraiser, drew about 500 patrons last year.

La Casa Amiga, located at 970 Cross Avenue, focuses on English as a second language but also provides tutoring sessions for math and language, as well as computer classes. For adults, the organization helps with document and medical translations, housing and employment opportunities.

According to La Casa Amiga coordinator Shirley Kloepfer, the organization had more than 3,900 visitors seeking a variety of services from Nov. 22, 2013, to April 5. La Casa Amiga served nearly 400 new families in 2013, she said.

La Casa Amiga will have a summer tutoring in reading comprehension and science from June 18 to July 30.
