Jefferson County House of Hope: Will provide free food and supplies to residents of Jefferson County who are in need. A household may visit once every 30 days. Guests will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 a.m. to noon Fridays. The clearinghouse is located at 100 E. Second St. The entrance is located off First St., at the rear of the building.
Celebrate Recovery: A 12-step, Christ-centered, recovery program for hurts, habits and hang-ups, from addictions to depression, will meet at 4 p.m. Sundays at Faith Covenant Church, 217 E. Choices for Women Yard Sale: Will be held April 18 and April 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon. New items will be put out for the second weekend. For more information call (812) 493-9264.
Open Swim: The pool at the Madison Consolidated Junior High School will be open for a community swim on Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $1 per person, and elementary-aged children and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Farmer's Market: Will run from April 1 through Oct. 31 on Broadway between Main and Third streets. The market is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fish Fry: Kent Volunteer Fire Company will host a fish fry fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m.
Freethinkers Book Club: Will meet at 6 p.m. on the third Friday of the month at Village Lights Bookstore.
Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Gary Hewitt and the Honky Tonk Band. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.
No More Cutting: A support group for girls from junior high to college who struggle with depression, fear, anxiety and suicidal thoughts will meet every Friday at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1429 Clifty Drive, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The group is spiritually-based and non-denominational. World Book Night: Village Lights Bookstore will honor six members of the Courierarea who have volunteered to distribute books to underserved places on World Book Night, April 23. The reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.
Fish Fry: Canaan Volunteer Fire Department will host a fish fry from 5 to 8 p.m. with fish, fries, pork tenderloin, coleslaw, hushpuppies, dessert and drinks. A free will offering will be collected.
Lego Club: Will meet at 11 a.m. at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison branch. All ages are welcome to get creative and have fun with Lego, Lincoln Logs and Tinker Toys. For more information call (812) 265-2744.

Freethinkers Coffee and Conversation: Will meet at 7 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month at Mumbles.
Carroll County Fiscal Court: Will meet at 9 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the Fiscal Court on the second floor of the Carroll County Courthouse.
Kids Storytime: Jill Kelly Koren will read to young book lovers from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Village Lights Bookstore. Selections are tailored to the ages of the audience.
Jefferson County Job Fair: Will be held at Ivy Tech Community College. It will be open to veterans from 1 to 2 p.m. and the general public from 2 to 5 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to dress professionally, bring a resume and be prepared to fill out applications. 911 Communications Administrative Board of Jefferson County: Will meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 4:15 p.m. at Madison City Hall. Accommodations are available by calling (812) 273-3313 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
Pizza and Plaster: Learn what to use and what not to use when repairing plaster walls, and learn how to do the right application with master craftsman Terry Wullenweber from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Knights of Pythias Building, 314 Jefferson St. Refreshments will be served. Senior Citizens Prom: Will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Madison Moose Lodge. The event is free to all Jefferson County senior citizens. The event theme is "spring fling." The prom includes free dinner, dancing and door prizes. The queen and king will be crowned at 8 p.m.
