The World Comes to Madison: The Seifert-Short Museum and Learning Center, 113 E. Third St., will display nativities and crèches from around the world during the holiday season. The museum will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in December and January. It will be closed Dec. 26. Free admission.

Carrollton Live Nativity: Will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 14 and 15 outside the courthouse in Carrollton, Ky.

Santa: Will be at the Switzerland County Visitors Center, 129 W. Main St., Vevay, to greet children from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 15 and 16.

Senior Nutritional Meals: LifeTime Resources offers meals for seniors Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Jefferson County Senior Citizens Center, 208 W. Main St. Meals are not served on holidays.

Depression Support Group: A spiritually-based depression support group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1429 Clifty Drive. FAFSA: Madison Consolidated High School will host a financial aid meeting for Jefferson County members of the class of 2013 and their parents at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria. A college financial aid expert will be on hand to walk parents and seniors through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form and to answer questions about financial aid.

American Cancer Society Planning Meeting: Will be held at 6 p.m. at Ivy Tech Community College.

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Gary Hewitt and the Honky Tonk Band. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $3 and includes snacks, drinks and door prizes.

Southwestern Band Christmas Concert: Will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the high school gym and will feature short performances by all of the grade level bands, the concert band and the marching band. Prior to the concert there will be a fundraiser auction and pot-luck dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. All proceeds go to support the instrumental music programs at the school.

Santa Claus is Coming: Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their annual stop at Pope John Elementary School from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Refreshments will be provided. The event is free and parents are welcome to take pictures of their children with Santa Claus.
