Dead Serious About Life: For more than 24 years 'Mispachah' a non-profit group based out of Ohio, has been performing this musical in high schools, churches and youth conventions. The play will be held Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. and Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. in the cafeteria of Switzerland County High School. Tickets are $8 in advance and can be ordered at (800) 459-7268. CCPL Board: Will meet at noon at the Carroll County Public Library.

Knit and Crochet: Gather to knit and crochet or get help from others at 3:30 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.

Freethinkers Book Club: Will meet at 6 p.m. on the third Friday of the month at Village Lights Bookstore.

Senior Dance: Will be held Friday by the Madison Parks Department at the Brown Gym featuring the music of Gary Hewitt and the Honky Tonk Band. The doors open at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per person.

No More Cutting: A support group for girls from junior high to college who struggle with depression, fear, anxiety and suicidal thoughts will meet every Friday at the Eggleston Community Building, 419 East St., from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The group is spiritually-based and non-denominational. Magic Tournament: Will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.

Comedy Caravan: Will be at the Madison Consolidated High School's Opal E. Sherman Auditorium at 7 p.m. The show will feature host Billy Goldsmith, Jacob Williams and headliner Mack Dryden, along with special guest Greg Ison, Madison Junior High School teacher. Advance tickets are available at River Valley Financial Bank on Clifty Drive for $10. Tickets will be $12 at the door. All proceeds go to Madison Bands.

MLK Jr. Program: Christ Temple Community Church, 420 E. First St., will host a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. program at 4 p.m. They keynote speaker will be Dr. Adrienne Clark, a new veterinarian who is new Madison. They will also have guest music. The program is scheduled to last approximately 90 minutes.

MLK Jr. Annual Program: Trinity United Methodist Church will host the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. program with Fred King of Christ Temple Church as the speaker. A video will be shown at 11:30 a.m. followed by the service from noon to 1 p.m. A light lunch will be served following the service with a limited number of to-go bags for those who need to return to work.

Marade: As part of Hanover College's Martin Luther King Jr. Week the college will host a combination march and parade starting at 3 p.m. in the J. Graham Brown Campus Center lobby.

Court Street Cinemas: Will show "Lee Daniels' The Butler" at 6 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. The film is rated PG13.

Freethinkers Coffee and Conversation: Will meet at 7 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month at Mumbles.

MCHS Eighth Grade Scheduling Extravaganza: Madison Consolidated High School will host an eighth grade scheduling event at 6 p.m. in the high school auditorium to allow parents and students to tour the building, meet with teachers and discuss the transition from junior high to high school.

Poetry Slam: As part of Hanover College's Martin Luther King Jr. Week the college will host a poetry slam at 7 p.m. in the Haq Center.

CAFFE: Carrollton Area Families for Education will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesdays at the Carroll County Public Library.

Lego Mania: Will be held starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.

Chamber Dinner: The 90th annual Madison Area Chamber of Commerce dinner will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the faculty dining room at the Brown Campus Center on Hanover College. Cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. and the dinner and awards will run from 7:15 to 9:15 p.m. Free valet parking and shuttle service are available. Call (812) 265-3135 to reserve a seat.

Race in Your Face - Whispering Behind Closed Doors: As part of Hanover College's Martin Luther King Jr. Week the college will host a discussion at 6 p.m. in the Withrow Center.

The six-week, two-hour class will meet at 6 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. Registration is $25.
