UFO Quilt Day: In the world of quilting a UFO is an unfinished project. Bring an unfinished project, whether it was started last week or last year, and join others for a productive day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. Knitters are also welcome.
Red Hatters: Will meet at 11:30 a.m. at Key West Shrimp House, 117 Ferry St. They will celebrate 'Christmas in January.' Those planning to participate in the exchange should bring a $5 gift. For more information call (812) 265-4433.
KDH Retirees: The retired employees of King's Daughters' Hospital will meet at 11:30 a.m. at The Pines.
Vevay First Friday: Will start the new year with a Mardi Gras-themed First Friday event from 6 to 9 p.m. Downtown merchants and restaurants will have extended hours. The Switzerland County Visitors Center, 128 W. Main St., invites visitors to wear a mask, beads or other attire in honor of Mardi Gras. The center will also host a "Become a Jester" photo opportunity and a display of Kathy Williams' collection of masks.
Hoops for Education: The Madison Consolidated Education Foundation will host a basketball event at 6:30 p.m. featuring teams from local law enforcement, local educators, Grote Industries and Madison alumni. There will be entertainment between games. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students and free for children in preschool or younger. The fundraiser supports Madison Consolidated Schools academic teams and teachers' programs.
Game Day: Will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.
Court Street Cinemas: Will show "Smurfs 2" at 2 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library. The film is rated PG.
KYNECT: Get assistance with Kentucky health care sign-up from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Carroll County Public Library.
White-Nose Syndrome - Managing a Bat Fungal Pathogen: The Big Oaks Conservation Society will host United State Fish and Wildlife Service biologist Rich Geboy at 6:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Public Library Madison branch. Geboy will discuss the impact of white-nose syndrome on native bat populations. The public is welcome to the free presentation.
IKE Retirees: Retired employees of the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation will meet for breakfast at 8 a.m. at the Clifty Falls State Park's Clifty Inn. Dave Rehkopf will speak on insurance. All retirees and guests are welcome.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Merit Board: Will meet at 5:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Commissioners Office in the Jefferson County Courthouse, 300 E. Main St. For more information call (812) 265-2648.

Blood Drive: The Jefferson County Chapter of the American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Southwestern High School, 167 S. Main Cross Road, Hanover.
