40th Anniversary April 3, 1974 Tornadoes: A special ceremony will be held at noon in front of the Jefferson County courthouse to remember those who were killed. Meteorologists from the National Weather Service will attend the ceremony to discuss the storm and film the event for a documentary. Community Yard Sale: The Madison Courier will sponsor a community yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Madison National Guard Armory, 1533 Clifty Drive. Two tables can be purchased for $25. The fee includes print, online and mobile advertising. The deadline to sign up is March 22. Proceeds from table sales will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Jefferson County.
