Planning meeting today for Madison's participation in 2016 state bicentennial

A meeting will be held today at 6 p.m. in City Hall for those interested in helping Madison celebrate the Indiana Bicentennial in 2016.
The meeting will include discussion of local projects to improve quality of life and was to help spark the state's next 200 years. Additional ways to participate in the upcoming bicentennial will also be discussed.
The theme of the Indiana Bicentennial is "Celebrate History - Ignite the Future."

Madison has contributed greatly to the development of the state of Indiana for many years. These contributions include the arts, science & medicine, philanthropy, law & politics, sports, the military, and the anti-slavery movement. Because Madison has been such an influential community, it is important to honor these accomplishments during the celebration.
