Six local students to attend UIndy's
Symposium for Tomorrow's Leaders

Students from three area high schools will attend the Richard G. Lugar Symposium for Tomorrow's Leaders at the University of Indianapolis on Dec. 7.
Madison Consolidated High School, Southwestern High School and Shawe Memorial High School will each send two juniors to the event hosted by the former Indiana senator.
Madison Consolidated High School students Emily Holland and Mitch Marsh, Southwestern High School students Pete Carrell and Nadia Moore and Shawe Memorial High School students Myles Hesse and Paulette Koronkevich will each attend the symposium.
The annual event brings together high school juniors from around the state to discuss public issues and world events. Lugar will present an address and attend sessions focusing on topics including energy security, immigration, healthcare, gun control, the effect of terrorism on personal liberty and U.S. leadership in the world. Students will hear from speakers in the fields of political science, public policy, medicine and law.
