Saturday, July 12, 2014 5:00 AM
The Sunshine Homemakers met July 9 at 9:15 a.m. at the Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds. Dorothy Morgan presided over the meeting and led in the Extension Homemakers Club Creed and the Pledge of Allegiance. Club members sang, "God Bless America." Morgan gave devotions from Acts 28:13 and "Bright Moments" by Amy Boling. Members answered roll call with their favorite summer activity. Marie Black gave the secretary's report and Sandi Koehler gave the treasurer's report. The club discussed the upcoming district meeting and achievement day. A progress report was also given on the Homemakers quilt project fundraiser. The quote of the month was from Edward Gibbon, "The winds and the waves are always on the side of the ablest navigators." The thought for the month was, "Every horse thinks its own pack is the heaviest."
