Southwestern Middle School recently announced the students of the month for November. Students honored were:
Sixth Grade: Reading/English, Nicole Jackson and Jessica Taflinger; math, Josef Stevens and Jessica Taflinger; social studies, Mitchell Adcock and Maddie Jacobs; writing, Thomas Loehr, Alida Flores and Maddie Jacobs; science, Maddie Jacobs and Mitchell Adcock; and health, Mitchell Adcock and Skylynn Butters.
Seventh Grade: Enrichment, Lakyn Wilson and Darrell Amburgey; pre-algebra, Kasey Watterson, Jasmine Fossett, Damian Kincaid and Riley Elliott; science, Zach Smith, Samara Sims and Braylon Long; social studies, Caleb Ream and Bailey Prescher; health, Brendan Courter and Jacob Grider; and reading, Elizabeth Allen, Kyle Elles and Jonathan Stockdale.
Eighth Grade: Science, Jasmine Scott and Nate Griffin; social studies, Katherine Sampson and Corgan Hobbs; pre-algebra, Noah Roberts; algebra, Sean Bennett; and health, Taylor Cole and Samuel Beverly.
Shelby Rauck of Carrollton, Ky. has been accepted to Ashland University for the fall semester of 2014. Rauck, a senior at Carroll County High School, will receive the Provost's Scholarship, worth $8,000 annually.
