Lauren Chilman of Commiskey and Cameron Collins of Lexington were named to the dean's list for the spring semester of the 2013-2014 school year at the University of Indianapolis. Students named to the dean's list have completed at least 12 credit hours and earned a grade point average of 3.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale.



Rochelle Short of Deputy, and Elizabeth McCabe and Lindsey Turner, both of Madison, were named to the honor roll for the spring semester of the 2013-2014 school year at the University of Indianapolis. Students named to the honor roll have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours during a regular semester and earned a grade point average of at least 3.4 but less than 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.



The University of Indianapolis' May 3 commencement in Key Stadium was the first outdoor graduation ceremony since the 1960s and the first since 2002 to combine both undergraduate and graduate programs. More than 1,300 graduates, hailing from 28 states and 14 nations, were eligible to receive diplomas before an audience of several thousand relatives and friends. Local students among the graduates included:

Danielle Ballard of Patriot, magna cum laude with a bachelor of science.

Kraig Brittain of Madison, cum laude with a bachelor of science.

Ariel Clark of Bennington, magna cum laude with a bachelor of science.

Natalie Hill of Madison, with a master of science degree in nursing.



Brooke Bell, daughter of Dan and Tiffini Poling of Madison, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene on May 3.



Corey Povaleri and Lindsey Watterson were named to the dean's list at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for the spring quarter of the 2013-2014 school year. Students named to the list must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

Povaleri, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, is the son of Tony and Tina Povaleri of Deputy. He is a 2011 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School.

Watterson, a senior majoring in software engineering and biomedical engineering, is the daughter of Dennis and Cheryl Watterson, formerly of Lexington. She is a 2011 graduate of Southwestern High School.



Brett Martin of Madison was named to the dean's list at Millikin University for the spring semester of the 2013-2014 school year. Martin is a junior in the College of Arts & Sciences majoring in communication.



Kyndal Curry and William Yager, both of Carrollton, Ky., were named to the dean's list at Georgetown College for the spring semester for the 2013-2014 school year. Students named to the list must earn a 3.7 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale.



Four local students were among the Georgetown College graduates during commencement ceremonies May 10.

Jensen Wainscott of Worthville, Ky. graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree. William Yager of Carrollton, Ky. graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree. Nathan Brown of Ghent, Ky. and Joshua Mahoney of Lexington, both graduated with a bachelor of science degree.



The Jefferson Community and Technical College recently announced its dean's list for the spring semester of the 2013-2014 school year. Students must maintain a full-time status and a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher to be included.
