Karen Aguilar, a junior at Shawe Memorial Junior/Senior High School, was selected by faculty members to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards in November. She is the daughter of Ana Deisy Zavala of Madison.
The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards are a youth leadership training program for high school aged students. The Madison Rotary Club pays all fees for selected participants in the area.
Devin W. Ferguson of Madison was named to the dean's list for the May 2013 and June 2013 sessions in the College of Applied Technologies at the University of Northwestern Ohio. He is the son of Tony and Kendra Ferguson of Madison. Full-time students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale to be named to the list.
Several local students were named to the dean's list at Purdue University for the spring semester of the 2012-2013 school year. To be named to the list, a student must have completed at least 12 credit hours, be enrolled at least half-time, have a semester grade point average of at least 3.0 and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
Students named to the dean's list include: Jessica Dewar of Commiskey, Benjamin Van Wye of Dupont, Hannah Hardy and Lydia Huser, both of Lexington, and Bridget Elston, Erika Fisher, Susan Goley, Christopher Mathews, Jessica Moore, Kendra Nunan and Samuel Schafer, all of Madison.
Several local students received semester honors at Purdue University for the spring semester of the 2012-2013 school year. To be named to the list, a student must be enrolled at least half-time, have a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 and have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
Students earning semester honors include: Jessica Corya, Jessica Dewar and Justin Posey, all of Commiskey; Eric Klopp, Ian McGarry and Luke Schroeder, all of Hanover; Hannah Hardy and Lydia Huser, both of Lexington; and Amne Brawner, Lindsay Courtney, Bridget Elston, Erika Fisher, Kelly Gilles, Susan Goley, Adam Hostettler, Anna Jones, Christopher Mathews, Jessica Moore, Kendra Nunan, Michael Swartz and Ashley Wehner, all of Madison.
GREAT JOB STUDENTS!!!! GO PURDUE!!
