Defending champ Carroll County hammered Gallatin County 6-0 in the semifinals of the 31st District Boys Soccer Tournament Monday at Henry County High School in News Castle, Ky.

The top-seeded Panthers, who improved to 13-8-1 with the win, will face the winner of tonight's Owen County-Henry County semifinal matchup in the district championship at 8 p.m. on Thursday. With Monday's win Carroll also earned an automatic berth to the Eighth Region tournament.

Gallatin County ends the season with a 5-16 record.

Meanwhile, in the girls 31st District soccer tournament, also at Henry County, Carroll County lost 2-0 to top-seeded Henry County. The Panthers end the season with a 2-14-1 record.

Henry County (6-6-1) will face the today's Owen-Gallatin winner in the finals at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
