Madison's golf team picked up a dual meet victory over Providence at Covered Bridge Golf Course on Tuesday.
Amanda Detmer was the low-medalist for the nine-hole match with a 37 and was backed by Jordan Dean with a 42, Abbi Wynn a 43 and Kyla Johnson a 48 for Madison's total of 170. LeAnn Fox had a 48 and Keegan Ehlers carded a 56 to round out the Cubs' golfers.
Providence shot a 207.
"I'm extremely pleased with where we are as a team. I believe our scores are about two to three weeks ahead of schedule compared to where we were last year at this time," Madison coach Dale Crafton said. "Amanda and Abbi had great rounds. Abbi is scoring pretty consistently at this time. Jordan had a super round and her short game is really improving.
"The entire team recovered quickly mentally and got refocused on the next shot. That's not an easy task, but they sure were successful today at putting mediocre shots behind them."
Madison competes in the Connersville Invitational at Willowbrook Golf Course on Saturday.
