Madison's boys track and field team finished fifth in the Talon Relays at Brown County on Saturday.

The Cubs had two wins on the day. Hunter Sego and Nick Palmer combined to win the pole vault at a combined height of 23 feet-even. Nathan Norris, Nathan Riley, Beau Turner and Curry Morgan won the 400-meter thrower's relay in 50.79.

Other top finishes for Madison were: Jordan Partee and Gabe Stoll, second, long jump, 41-5.5; Partee and Trenton Roark, third, high jump, 11-0; Patrick Knight, Kevin Stewart, Justin Robertson and Quenton White, fourth, 3200 relay, 9:31.80; and Alex Schmidlapp and Nathan Riley, fourth, shot put, 74-1.5.

Columbus North won the event with 143 points. The rest of the team scores were: Crown Point, 110; Terre Haute North, 79.5; Bedford North Lawrence, 77; Madison, 75; Heritage Christian, 56, Silver Creek, 51; and Brown County, 45.5.

Madison returns to action on Tuesday with the girls hosting Columbus East and the boys heading to Seymour.
