Class 3A No. 14 Madison played its final warmup before beginning the girls basketball state tournament next week, rolling to a 60-45 win at Charlestown to close out the regular season with back-to-back wins.

Charlestown held an 8-6 lead after the first quarter but Madison outscored the Pirates 17-7 in the second and 16-11 in the third to take control of the game.

The Cubs, now 16-4, placed two players in double figures including a big double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds from sophomore center Olivia Crozier.

Crozier was joined in double figures by senior swingman Whitney Wynn with 16 points. All 10 Cubs who dressed for the game saw action, and each scored.

Madison was 19-of-34 inside the arc for 56 percent shooting and 4-of-16 beyond the arc for an overall shooting night of 23-of-50 for 46 percent. The Cubs also made 10-of-16 at the foul stripe.

Charlestown, now 10-10, got a game-high 18 points from Kaitlynn Henning and 17 from Justice Burdin. However, only two other Pirates scored, accounting for just 10 more points.

Charlestown was 17-of-34 inside the arc for 50 percent and missed both 3-point attempts for an overall 17-of-36 for 47 percent. The Pirates were 11-of-14 at the foul line for 79 percent.

The Lady Cubs out-rebounded Charlestown 34-30 and had 15 turnover to 22 by the Pirates. Madison had 16 steals to just five by the Pirates and the Cubs dished out 16 assists to five by Charlestown. Madison also blocked 12 shots.
