Madison's boys track and field team competed in the Midwest Prep Meet at Lawrence Central on Saturday in Indianapolis.
"This is a great meet for our guys that qualified to see some of the best in the state and the area," Madison boys coach Scott Holcroft said.
Senior Jordan Partee placed second in the long jump, falling only to Jonah Wiley from Bloom Township (Ill.). Partee jumped 23 and one-half inches while Wiley jumped 23 feet, 6 inches.
"Jordan jumped very well and was on the board each time," Holcroft said. "He worked last week on his approach and it paid off with no scratches."
Partee also ran in the 100 meter dash and finished 21st in 11.64 seconds.
Nathan Riley just missed placing in the shot put by three and a half inches. Riley placed ninth with a throw of 44 feet, one inch.
Madison hosts Seymour in its final home meet on Tuesday.
