Southwestern's girls tennis team extended its undefeated season to 8-0 Tuesday with a 4-1 win at Milan.

The Lady Rebels swept the singles matches before splitting two hard-fought doubles matches that included a tie-breaker at the first double and a three-set marathon at the two doubles.

"I knew going in it would be a tough match for us. Milan has a very competitive team, " Southwestern coach Kenny Garrett said.

Results were: Singles - No. 1 Abbey Garrett (SW) d. Rachael Smith (M) 6-1, 6-3; No. 2 Sarah Anderson (SW) d. Hannah Mulroy (M) 6-3, 6-4; and No. 3 Cheyenne McKinley (SW) d. Autumn Bowling (M) 6-1, 6-1; Doubles - No. 1 Maria Voss, Shelby Tippitt (M) d. Jordan Worcester, Kearstin Bruther (SW) 6-7 (5-7), 6-3; and No. 2 Sydnie McKinley, Meredith Webber (SW) d. Dakota Stiles, Izzy Ortel (M) 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Southwestern (8-0) hosts Madison today at Hanover Park.
