Rebs, Swiss finish 2-3 to Shiners golf

Southwestern was 21 strokes better than host Switzerland County but that still wasn't good enough to edge Rising Sun in a boys varsity golf match Monday at Belterra Resort and Casino Golf Course.
Southwestern shot a 179 to Rising Sun's 176 while Switzerland County was a distant third with a 200.
The Shiners produced the top two scorers in the match as Rising Sun's Bryce Murray was the medalist with a 3-over 38 and Brad Murray carded a 41.
Southwestern's Michael Perry topped the Rebels with a 43 for the third best score overall.
Other Rebels scoring included Brynen Chitwood and Colten Shepherd, with a pair of 45s, and Ashton Hill with a 46. Stacey Noble shot a 47 in a non-scoring round.
Switzerland County was led by Alex Curran's 47 while Clint Swanson shot a 48, Logan Todd a 51and Dustin Tice a 54.
Other scores for the Shiners were Rising Sun scores were Jordan King's 47and Austin Armstrong's 50.
Southwestern now plays in the Trinity Lutheran Invitational on Saturday.
